The Bridge aims to:

• encourage exploration and discussion of different views about the nature of the 'self' and consequent creative potential.
• provide a number of methods of percieving & unfolding Inherent Creative Potential...
• provide the appreciative space to experiment, conceptually, socially, and physically.

an experimental attitude...

• The essential presumption made is that our inherent nature is a system which is already harmonised (in dynamic balance), that this exists, we suggest is a useful presumption to make...it should be pointed out that there are a number of philosophies, religions and scientific theories that support such a view.
• however it may be/have been obscured by mechanisms such as dualistic aristotelian logic and stereotypical thinking which constructs experience in terms of oppositions: (real / imaginary, power / sensitivity, knowledge / intuition) and mistake these constructs for our nature..consequently defining our nature as split...
• Carl Jung pointed out that all cultures have models of Inherent Harmony, often in the form of Mandalas
• The assumption encouraged is that:
  • In dynamic balance with this stable universal centre of being is the complementary potential to tune into/identify with any pattern ....
    • Some cultures, by avoiding the use of objectifying nouns have managed to maintain this present awareness..
    • the Hopi Indians for example, if you were a part of their culture for example you would perhaps currently describe yourself as "sitting and reading being", leading to the opportunity to experiment with being anything you choose, for example "accidentaly correct being", "suprisingly ultra relaxed being" for example.......
      • Silly?
• the freedom to experiment with doing/being any character and liberation from restrictive historical models of the self is enabled by this change in the use of language."
• Many other bodies of wisdom are related to the same proposition: Yoga, many Religions incuding Taoism, Zen Buddhism, the Artistic movements of Surrealism and Fluxus, the Science of Self -Organisation and Chaos
• Practical ways of rediscovering / unfolding this Inherent Harmony
• is what "The Bridge" is about.
• to consider the possibilities of what we can be, and reclaim the freedom to experiment with what we can be.

  Appreciating that creativity is a natural universal inherent phenomena should encourage us to respect the value of ourselves and everyone around us.
